In the coming weeks to months, the articles for LGLC on Palliative Care will be made available in a more easily searchable format.
Please check back in to see how this develops.

Suzana Makowski MD MMM posted a noteCongratulations to all the physicians who passed their palliative medicine boards last year. Since that time, as you may know, the LGLC has been somewhat dormant. We are working on defining the next stages of this forum: the purpose, goals, and needs of the community. Please stay tuned to see what unfolds, and feel free to post ideas and comments.
There is a poll on this page, and we have had about 30 respondents. The majority wish this website to continue to serve as an ongoing community to support interdisciplinary palliative care, and as a forum for any clinician to learn more about palliative care from others. In the coming weeks and months, the website will updated with more easily accessible search on the subject areas.
Stay tuned here for updates on the development of the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board.
From AAHPM:
The purpose of the certification for Hospice Medical Directors is to create and maintain a professional credential for eligible hospice medical directors. The certification will be the key indicator of physician competency in the core elements of the practice of the hospice medical director, including the clinical skills necessary to enhance the care of patients with advanced illness and their families, and the administrative, leadership, and regulatory skills necessary for the functioning of both the interdisciplinary team and the responsible hospice agency.
As more news unfolds, it will be posted here. A question I hope to pose to this community is whether LGLC might be a means to support education of people seeking this certification as well.

When working in the Discussion Forum or the Blog, sometimes our replies or comments become quite lengthy, taking a long time to write, revise, review and edit prior to submission to the website. The amount of time can sometimes 'boink' the session, or drop your reply, which is frustrating.
One way to avoid this is to write your response in Word or other writing program, then copy and paste it into the reply or comment box when finished. Contact Carrie w questions!
